Glen Brooks
Glen Brooks
Glen Brooks has over twenty years experience and knowledge of working professionally as an Artist. For the past five years he has been self employed, predominantly producing artworks for the Artist duo ‘The Connor Brothers’. This involved in the most part recreating classical artworks often with a slight twist. Prior to this Glen had the privilege of working for the Artist Damien Hirst in his Studio as a ‘Specialist Painter’ creating extremely fine detailed artworks and was then promoted to Damien’s ‘Fact Painters’ creating large photorealistic oil painting.
Glen’s passion is the technical challenge of making replica’s of great artworks, objects and sculptures. He finds the process of looking closely at these artworks to work out how they were first created then solving the problems and challenges of recreating them in some form today absolutely fascinating. In recreating these artworks Glen is allowing us to be able enjoy our most beloved pieces of art that would otherwise be unattainable, it maybe a Michelangelo, a Da Vinci, a Botticelli, or perhaps a Van Gough, a Picasso, a Duchamp or a Renoir and to be able to have them adorn our own homes.
During his professional career Glen has gained a vast amount of experience in many different mediums ranging from figurative to abstract paintings, sculptures of plaster, metal, wood and fibreglass, as well as printing from screens, etching plates and Lino cuts and photography both digital and film.
Earlier in his career Glen created original artworks for several prestigious interior design projects including, The Landmark Hotel London, The Park Lane Hotel London, The Hilton Hotel Cairo, The Presidential Palace Baku and Michael Flatley’s Castle-Hyde home in Southern Ireland.
Glen is always available to be contacted to discuss private commissioned artworks.
