The team held its annual summer tournament – raising over £500 for charity
The event was a roaring success with over 160 teams taking part, 449 games played and 649 goals scored! There was even a very special guest on the sidelines as our large lion Zale joined the cheering crowds – its vibrant blue and gold matching perfectly with the club colours.
Chairperson of the Youth Club, Richard Howell, said “Whilst Hardwicke Rangers are a youth football club, we are also a community club. We are not only here to nurture and develop children as footballers – but also as responsible individuals, respecting others, and their community. We felt as a committee that the ‘Lions at Large’ campaign matched this ambition and the values we promote.”
“It provides a fun activity for our players with an opportunity to do something rewarding. Our tournament was the perfect opportunity to share the charity with our club, local community, and the wider footballing community, whilst raising funds for the charity. We are proud to be involved and look forward to finding more opportunities to support Lions at Large and to follow the trail in 2025.”
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Hardwicke Rangers YFC and all the other youth teams taking part in the tournament for their fantastic support!
