We are absolutely thrilled to announce a first for our trail; Safran has signed up to sponsor not one, but two majestic lions that will be roaring across the county.
With operations in Staverton, Gloucestershire, Safran is a global leader in high-technology innovation, specialising in the aviation, defence and space markets. The business is committed to contributing to a safer, more sustainable world, where air transport is more environmentally friendly, comfortable and accessible. Since 1936, Safran has been a key employer in the area, contributing to both the local economy and community through its numerous projects and initiatives.
Safran will be part of the first ever Wild in Art Trail to roar into Gloucestershire! Featuring over 30 stunning lion sculptures, each uniquely designed and painted by local artists, this trail will fill public spaces with imagination and creativity. To ensure that all employees and the wider community can join in the excitement, Safran has arranged for its sponsored lions to be displayed at both our Cheltenham and Gloucester locations.
“Safran is honoured to have the opportunity to be part of this momentous and innovative fundraising campaign which we hope will significantly enhance healthcare provision for the community in which we operate. We strive to fulfil our commitments as one of the largest employers in Gloucestershire and are delighted to be able to participate in this project.” said Safran Gloucester’s Finance Director, Andrew Devons.
The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail is helping to raise funds for a brand new, state-of-the-art cancer facility at Cheltenham General Hospital. It will offer a bigger, brighter home for cancer care in the community, reaching the whole of Gloucestershire and as far as Hereford, Swindon and Wales. This new space will offer modern consulting rooms complete with new digital technology, space for innovation and research trials as well as a new therapeutic garden.
Carrie Smith, Project Manager at Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, said: “We are absolutely blown away by Safran’s incredible generosity in sponsoring not just one, but two lions on the trail. When we received the news, we were all stunned and deeply moved by their support. Their contribution means we can raise even more funds for The Big Space Cancer Appeal; helping to create a transformative environment for both patients and NHS staff. Safran’s commitment to making the world more welcoming, comfortable and accessible is what we hope to achieve for everyone who walks through our doors.”
