The popular retail and lifestyle destination has signed up as a sponsor for The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail.
Gloucester Quays offers a range of retail outlets, from high-street stores to designer brands, alongside a host of restaurants and cafes. Their sponsorship of a lion will help bring these unique sculptures to life; attracting tourism to the area, showcasing world-class art and offering a fun, free and engaging event.
Centre Manager for Gloucester Quays, Owen Acland said:
“Gloucester Quays are delighted to support this amazing project, not only to support such a fantastic cause but also to help strengthen the co-operative links between Gloucester and Cheltenham. When we were invited to be involved, we jumped at the chance.”
“These trails really capture the imagination, the lions look amazing and it’s such a great way to raise much needed funds and spread some fun and enjoyment around the county. There was no way we wouldn’t sign up for one and we urge everyone else to join in and get involved.”
Charlie Homer, Head of Income Generation at Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, said:
“We are over the moon that Gloucester Quays has signed up as a sponsor of Lions at Large. They have been incredibly supportive of the trail and it was amazing to hear their passion for bringing together the whole community when we met at our launch event. We can’t wait to see their chosen lion standing proud on the streets of Gloucestershire.”
The money raised from Lions at Large will help raise funds for new cancer care facilities with digital consulting rooms, space for state-of-the-art research, as well as a therapeutic outside space.
